What is Chef's Table?

Chef's Table is Special Sauce's potluck-style cookbook club, named for our resident pup, Chef. We pick a cookbook, you pick a recipe from it, and everyone shows up with a homemade dish to share with a room full of fellow food lovers.

How does it work?

Once you grab a ticket, you'll get access to a shared sign-up sheet where you can claim your recipe (first come, first served, so nobody doubles up). Cook it at home, then bring it with you to the gathering, ready to share.

How do I get a spot?

Chef's Table is ticketed, and space depends on wherever we're hosting that round, since we like to mix up venues around Charlotte. The best way to snag a ticket is to be on our email list. We tend to open sales there first, before posting anywhere else.

When do tickets open?

Tickets typically go live about a month before each gathering. Heads up: once you're in, you're in. All sales are final.

What does my ticket cover?

Your ticket gets you into the venue, one drink (boozy or not, your call), plates and utensils covered, and all the good energy Special Sauce can bring to a room.

If you don't have the book, select the ticket option that includes the book, at a discounted price. It will arrive to you in plenty of time for the event.

Do I need to bring food?

Yep, that's the whole point. Chef's Table only works if everyone shows up ready to share something they made.

Do I need to own the book?

Nope! Borrow it from a friend, check it out from your local library, or grab it from us.

If you buy your copy with your ticket, you'll get a 20% discount, and choosing in-store pickup skips the shipping cost.

Anything else I should know?

A few housekeeping notes: tickets are non-refundable, we ask everyone to show up respectful and open to learning about food traditions outside their own, and we may take photos or video during the event that could be shared later. Also, a friendly reminder that some dishes may involve raw or undercooked ingredients, so use your judgment. We can't guarantee an allergen-free space, so it's on you to check ingredients if you have any concerns.
